In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
You were directed by our late Orders to order the Victualling Commissioners to comply with the arrangements for paying the Pursers of their Majesties' Ships, both ordinary and extrordinary moneys, at the time of their indenting, and their Balance Bills from time to time as they are drawn on them.
Notwithstanding this several Pursers have not been paid, particularly Edward Lawford, formerly Purser of the ALBEMARLE, whose Balance Bills are unpaid.
You are to direct the Commissioners to pay the moneys due to the Pursers and take care to comply with our orders and give us an account of why this has not been done.
