In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
His Majesty has signified that the last three months' Provisions ordered for the Fleet in the Mediterranean, and the Bomb and Machine vessels now fitting out for a voyage to the Straights, should be all sent away by the beginning of January next, or sooner if possible.
We direct you to give us an account as to when the Provision Ships, and the Bomb and Machine Vessels, will be ready to sail, also how you propose to have the Marine soldiers ordered to the Straights to be carried there.
In case there should be occasion for transporting two thousand more Land soldiers to the Fleet under Admiral Russell's command along with the Marines, let us know in what manner you propose to have it done, and how soon it may be effected.
Let us know by tomorrow night, or as soon as possible, sending an estimate of the Charges at the samr time.
