Document signed by William Bridgeman, c.1646-1699, English civil servant and Secretary to the Admiralty between 1694 and 1698.
Your letter yesterday concerned the payment of some of the PORTSMOUTH's Men who were impersonated by others now belonging to the CAPTAIN. Their Lordships therefore sent Orders to the Flag at Chatham to direct the Captain's Men to attend them next Monday evening in order to further examination of the matter.
I desire you order Captain Hill to attend at the same time, and bring with him Mr Edisbury and such other Clerks as you judge necessary.
