In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

In pursuance of his Majesty's Order in Council of December 23rd we direct you forthwith to call in all the Protections that have been granted by your Board to any Seamen, Watermen or Seafaring Men, and to take care for the future that no more Protections be granted to any Persons other than what shall be absolutely necessary for carrying on the service of your Office.
You are to send to tnis Board a list of the names and qualities of such Men hereafter protected by you, expressing on what account they are protected and for how long.
