In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Your letter of 14 January advised us that if the 12 Dutch men-of-war now at Spithead are to be cleaned, it will be best to order them to Portsmouth and Plymouth as the officers at Chatham are fully employed with the ships coming in. His Majesty has signified that they should be cleaned two at a time at Portsmouth and are to have the use of the ways(?) and hulk there and to employ their own men and materials. You are to give the necessary directions accordingly.
