In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
In pursuance of His Majesty's Order in Council of 1 February 1693, you are directed to sign a bill on the Treasurer of the Navy for p[aying Captain Cyprian Southack, who has been employed for several years by the Government of New England, the sum of £50 to buy himself a gold chain. This is as a reward for divers services he has performed in several expeditions against the French. This payment is to come out of money the Treasurer of the Navy has received out of the tenths of prizes appointed by the late Act of Parliament for medals and other rewards for officers, marines and seamen.
