In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

We have received information upon oath of crimes and offences committed by Captain Christopher Billop, Commander of the LONDON, touching the making of false tickets and procuring persons to personate the wives, widows and relations of ticket holders. We send you this information and direct you to examine the books relating to the persons concerned, as to what tickets have been made out and to whom, what money has been paid and to whom, and what certificates have been made out for Bounty Money to Captain Billop and to what persons the money has been paid. You are to make enquiry at the Prerogative Office what Letters of Administration have been granted, giving an account of the whole matter to this Board.
