In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Last night we were forced to veer our ship to shore in Purfleet Creek as the ice came so strong upon us. We can haul off at any time when our guns and other stores shall come from Deptford but our bows are much cut and all the lining is gone. Signed John Kidvill, commander of the PORTSMOUTH.
