In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
It is His Majesty's intention that 500 marine soldiers and the like number of land soldiers, be sent to Cadiz on board the men-of-war, bomb vessels and victuallers bound there. They are to embark at Spithead or St Helens and you are directed to give orders for all fitting accommodation and victuals for them. Our former orders directed that you provide on board the transport ships provisions for 3,000 land soldiers but this being now reduced to 2,500, the other 500 to go by men-of-war and other vessels as aforesaid, you are to give order for 2,500 only.
