Document signed by Josiah Burchett (c.1666-1746), Secretary to the Admiralty (1694-1742)
Captain Jackson of the SMYRNA MERCHANT at Gravesend has only one day's provisions left. Orders are given for her to be supplied immediately. At the foot of the letter is a note suggesting that there is a lack of clarity as to whether a particular vessel is entered as a Fourth or a Fifth Rate and appearing to name the vessel as the ADVICE.
