In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Informing that a petition has been presented to the Admiralty concerning Samuel Warner formerly belonging to the ROYAL SOVEREIGN and the GREENWICH where the Commander of the latter has recorded him as having deserted. Accordingly, a "Q" has been put against his ticket for the ROYAL SOVEREIGN thereby preventing him from claiming his pay for either ship. However, a certificate has been obtained from the Commissioners for Sick and Wounded showing that Warner was incapable of continuing in service. Orders have already been sent to the Commander of the Greenwich for Warner to be discharged. He is therefore to be paid his wages for his time in both ships.
