A J Paul was discharge from the ship HMS MINDEN at Lisbon on the 29 August 1837 to join the ALLIGATOR of 28 guns commissioned at Portsmouth by Sir J J Gordon Bremer to form a settlement at Port Essington on the North Coast of Australia.
