This is an abridgement of the diary of Samuel Pepys, selected and edited by Robert Latham. It contains about one-third of the original diary and is presented as an unbroken narrative, retaining the character of the original diary with Pepys's detail and style. Includes a chronological summary of Pepys's life, a list of maps showing London in the 1660s, genealogical tables of the Pepys family and illustrations of the most important people and places mentioned in the book.
