Tongariro (1883)

A whole plate negative. A port near broadside view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Tongariro (1883) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She is barque rigged with three yards on each of her fore and main masts. A swim headed, stumpy rigged spritsail barge is alongside transferring cargo at the forward holds. She is flying the blue peter. Tilbury is in the background.
