Valetta (1883)
A whole plate negative. A poor port broadside view of the passenger/cargo liner Valetta (1883) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has three yards on each of her fore and main masts, has awnings rigged aft and is flying the blue peter. The deckhouses ahead of the foremast are short. She has a thin white riband at the top edge of her hull. A small steam vessel is at anchor in the foreground and she has the Royal Coat of Arms on her stern. Tilbury Fort is in the background. Negative badly damaged by damp.
