Valetta (1883)
A whole plate negative. A starboard broadside view of the passenger/cargo liner Valetta (1883) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has three yards on each of her fore and main masts, has awnings rigged aft and is flying the blue peter. The deckhouses ahead of the foremast are short. She has a thin white riband at the top edge of her hull. The stern of a small steam vessel is on the right and she has the Royal Coat of Arms on her stern. Tilbury Fort is in the background.
