Study of a kaag alongside a lighter
A careful study of a kaag, from a port broadside view, not showing the upper part of the mast or sails. A lighter is positioned alongside to the starboard. On the back of the drawing is a distant view of a Dutch village across a wide stretch of water.
According to Robinson this unsigned, point of the brush and wash drawing is accurate and highly finished and may possibly be by neither of the Van de Veldes, though if it is it is more likely to be by the Elder.
