Almirante Brown (1880)
A whole plate negative. A fair quality slightly distant starboard broadside view of the Argentine Navy central battery corvette Almirante Brown (1880) at anchor in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has two yards on her foremast. A ketch is off her port side aft. She undertook her builder's final speed trials on the Maplin Measured Mile 14 June 1881 and this photograph was taken on or soon after this date. Tilbury is in the background.
