A council-of-war in the Dutch fleet August 1665?
This is an unsigned pencil and wash drawing by the Elder of the Dutch fleet. In the centre middle distance is a starboard bow view of a large ship becalmed with many boats alongside her and pulling to and fro. Other ships can be seen in the background.
Robinson has determined that from this work’s subject and watermark it probably belongs to the Bergen series.
