Dutch ships and a galjoot in a light air
In the right foreground is a bow view of a galjoot with the wind on the starboard quarter. Beyond is a broadside view of a ship at anchor, with a flag and pendant at the main. On the left is another ship with fore course, topsails and topgallants loosed.
This is an unsigned pencil and wash drawing by the Elder. Robinson believes that this attribution is doubtful as the work is more airily drawn than is usual with him at this period. It has been approximately dated by the subject.
