A waterschip at anchor with other ships in a Dutch harbour

On the left is a starboard bow view of a waterschip at anchor, with another under sail close under her stern. On the right is the bow only of a Dutch ship with fore yard aportlast and fore topmast struck. Beyond is depicted a ship with a flag at the mizzen and pendant at the main.

This is an unsigned pencil and wash drawing by the Elder. Robinson believes this drawing to be of poor quality and doubtful authenticity. It has been approximately dated by the style and subject.
