Decoration round the light of a states yacht
A single rectangular light on the port side, probably of a States yacht. On either side is a boy, each supporting a shield, leaning with the other arm over the window.
Below is a similar light showing dolphin decoration above it. Close above the light is a scupper, noted ‘overlop’, and to the right is a door (duer).
This is a pencil drawing by the Younger, signed in brown ink, ‘W.V.VJ’. According to Robinson it is a note of decoration in rapid pencil, which is less surely handled than the Younger’s later work. It has been approximately dated by the subject.
