Study of a barge

A barge viewed from abaft the starboard beam. She is fitted with a canopy aft. There is one figure amidships and the curtains of the canopy are drawn back to show several others.

This is a pencil and wash drawing by the Younger with the false signature ‘W.V.V.J’. It has been approximately dated by the watermark.
