Details of the rails of a head
The upper drawing shows a rail with a gilded floriated design at one end marked ‘a’ and shown in detail above with the note ‘vergult a’ (gilded); with ten timbers but with the note ‘d nober is maer 6’ (the number is only six) and with the position of an iron hole indicated (gadt yseer).
The lower drawing shows another rail with the same design at one end, and also repeated along the rail ‘dito a als a’.
