Barroso (1896)
A 12x10 negative. A slightly distant starboard very near broadside view, taken from only just abaft the beam, of the Brazilian Navy protected cruiser Barroso (1896) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. Note her round lower tops and the facetted front to her charthouse. The bow of the Port Sanitary Authority hulk Hygeia (1865), formerly the tug Robert Bruce (1865) is on the left.
