Yachts close-hauled in a breeze
A very free drawing showing a lee bow view of two small vessel, probably yachts, close hauled on the port tack. In the right background, there is another yacht on the starboard tack, and in the distance a ship at anchor.
This is an unsigned pencil drawing by the Younger. It is more freely drawn than usual for Van de Velde even for such a late period as 1700. The ship in the right background might well be of the middle 18th century.
