A Dutch ship at anchor, drying sails

A near starboard broadside view of a small Dutch ship at anchor. The fore and main courses are loosed in the brails and the yards braced round. The topsails are loosed on the tops and are aback. The mizzen yard is lowered.

This is a pencil drawing by the Younger, signed ‘W.V.VJ.’ It is a weak offset worked up with a little pencil lengthening the stern.
