De Ruyter's Voyage to Bergen, autumn 1665. A Dutch flagship under way and other ships at anchor near the shore

In the centre middle-distance, the starboard bow view of a ship with flag and pendant at the main; the wind on the starboard quarter, under fore course and topsails. About twelve other ships lying at anchor, head to wind. They are also of the centre squadron, the vice-admiral being on the right and the rear-admiral just ahead of him. An embankment with a rock is shown in the left foreground.
