In the left middle-distance there is a port broadside view of a flute in the wind with her fore course and topsail aback and main topsail braced round and shaking. In the right foreground, a weather quarter view of a smalschip close-hauled on the port tack. Ahead of her there is a galjoot in the wind. On the left is another smalschip before the wind.

This is a pencil and wash drawing by the Younger, signed ‘W.V.VJ.’
