A weyschuit hauled up on the shore near Den Helder
In the left foreground there is a port broadside view of a weyschuit hauled up on rollers on the shore near a breakwater in the middle-distance. Two other weyschuits are lying close in to shore. Ships of the rear squadron are at anchor in the distance beyond the breakwater.
This is an unsigned pencil and light brown wash drawing by the Younger. It is inscribed on the back ‘woonsdach den 20 Meij 1665’, and added in a fainter pencil ‘voor de helder.’
