A galjoot and Dutch ships in light airs

In this atmospheric drawing of shipping barely sailing on calm water the vessels appear to float, with no differentiation between sky and water and no visible horizon. On the right there is a port quarter view of a galjoot sailing in a light breeze, and in the centre middle distance a ship also sailing. There is a boat on the left and a number of ships in the distance.

The drawing is inscribed on the reverse '? de schepen die uyt drijfte met ...' (the ships which drifted out with …). The drawing is unsigned.
