An English ship under easy sail

In the right foreground, a port broadside view of a ship before the wind with her fore and main topsails half-mast high and shaking. In the background, left and right, two ships in the wind with their topsails aback.

This is an unsigned pencil and wash drawing by the Elder, though it may possibly be by the Younger, like PAF6896 to PAF6909; but the black and rather untidy wash and the ruled horizon are more like the work of the Elder.
