The astronomical rotula

Printed paper in glass fronted frame showing place of the Sun, Moon, Moon's node in the ecliptic with their distances from each other every day in the year. Also the true time of the eclipses of the Sun and Moon 1730 - 1800 etc.

The volvelles are turned from behind, two or three indicating the magnitude of lunar and solar eclipses are missing. Frame is wooded, moulded and stained dark brown. Paper is yellowing and discoloured with age. Frame is slightly battered, the raw wood showing through the finish.
