Sketch designs for the fore part of a yacht to be built for the Van de Veldes

On the left is a starboard bow showing two small gun-ports which do not appear in the other designs. Above, the stem, starboard side, showing a small lion figurehead on top of the stem. On the right, thee port bow with two bolts in the stem-head indicated ‘boute’.

Inscribed on the waterline which is redrawn in ink a little higher than a pencilled waterline ‘bij veranderingh, als de vaertuije voor te Leegh sign’ (an alteration if the vessel is too light forward).

Two more drawings for this yacht are in the Scheepvaart Museum, Amsterdam. One showing the stern with Van de Velde’s arms, the other is a sheer sketch plan.

This is an unsigned drawing by the Younger, with pen and brown ink over preliminary work in pencil. PAF6562, PAF6563, PAF6569-PAF6574, PAH1852, PAH1853 show other designs for details of this yacht. So far as is known the yacht was never built.
