Ships under bare poles in a strong breeze
On the let, a starboard quarter view of a ship broadside on to the wind and sea. In the right background, a vice-admiral viewed from abaft the starboard beam dead before the wind; her main yard is lowered almost to the rail. There are two other ships, one ahead and the other astern of her. There is also a ship at anchor in the left distance.
On the back there is a slight drawing of a sprit-rigged vessel passing a ship at anchor.
This is an unsigned pencil drawing by the Younger.
