A royal yacht close-hauled in a fresh breeze
The English royal yachts and the Dutch States or Princes’ yachts, which had large cabins aft, were used for carrying distinguished persons or as despatch vessels. In this drawing a yacht is shown close-hauled on the starboard tack with her mainsail and foresail set, but topsail lowered on the cap. In the right background there is a yacht on the port tack. The drawing is unsigned.
