A distant starboard bow view of the torpedo boat destroyer HMS Crusader (1909) at sea crossing the stern of the light cruiser HMS Aurora (1913). The letter 'F' can be seen on hull below the forecastle deck.
The photograph was taken from the deck of the light cruiser HMS Aurora (1913). Aurora went based at Dover under taking patrols off Dunkirk twice in July: 10-15 July, before returning to Harwich on 16 July 1916. She then returned to Dover on 21 July steaming back to Harwich on 29 July. [TNA, ADM 53/34495, ship's log].
