Hour-glass
A 20-minute glass filled with ochre sand. The centre joint is made of cloth bound over with twine. There are two removable cases made from cardboard covered with leather, with cut-away sides that exposes the glass inside. The outer case can be turned at ninety degrees to the inner so that the hour-glass is completely enclosed for protection. The outer case is warped and broken. This hour-glass may have been made for use while travelling.
