Greenwich Hospital

Print from 'Britannia Delineata' [TBC] showing Greenwich from the west side of what is now the Greenwich Peninsula, then a marsh area, on which Harding shows fishermen on the shore and on boats moored off, with others drawn ashore to the left. The print usefully evokes the pre-industrial shoreline of East Greenwich between the viewpoint and the Hospital, albeit with a romantic gloss looking into the sunset, with vessels on the river and the Isle of Dogs on the right. See also PAH3274 which appears to be from the same series. PvdM 10/05
