A 12x10 negative. A fair quality distant starboard side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the United States Navy battleship Illinois (1898) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She is dressed overall and is firing a salute. Her forward turret is trained on the port beam. A sludge carrier is proceeding downstream on the left. Tilbury is in the background.
