Portrait of the clipper ship Shooting Star

This vignette of the Shooting Star depicts the clipper ship at sea. All of her sails are set save for the lower mizzen. Four figures are discernable at the stern of the ship, and six figures are in the rigging of the foresail. An additional figure can be seen towards the bow. The Shooting Star bears the number 48 twice on her facing starboard side and flies a swallowtail flag with the same number from her foremast. She flies a pennant and a flag bearing the letter C from the mainmast, a flag showing an anchor on the spanker gaff, and two obscured flags on the mizzenmast.
