His Majesty's Brig Penguin

This aquatint vignette depicts the two-masted brig sloop Penguin, in port broadside view, sailing in a calm sea. Her lower main courses are furled, but her other sails are in full use. A British ensign flies at her gaff yard. Figures can be seen on her deck.

This illustration was published in "Liber Nauticus and instructor in the art of marine drawing", Volume I, by Dominick Serres and John Thomas Serres, in which Penguin was described as " a very beautiful vessel of her rate, and sails remarkably fast. She was captured from the Dutch ...".
