Combined nocturnal and lunar volvelle.
Nocturnal for use with the pointers of the Great Bear
Obverse: All engraving coloured red.
Main disc: Unequal date scale anticlockwise to named month and subdivided to 5 days.
Rotatable disc: Italian hours anticlockwise to 24 hours. Main pointer has one straight edge and floral engraving in centre.
Reverse: Carries a volvelle with rotatable disc.
Main disc: Lunar age scale numbered to one day. This engraving is different from rest of instrument.
Rotatable disc: Scale divided anticlockwise to 12. Circular aperture with pictorial display of lunar phases.
