H.M. Brig Pantaloon, 10 guns. Beating to Windward
This hand-coloured lithograph (on zinc) depicts the Pantaloon beating into the wind on a port tack in quite a choppy sea. She flies the red ensign from her stern gaff. On the left of the picture, another vessel, on a starboard tack, is shown in stern view. Both vessels, and others in the distance, are under reduced canvas as their upper top sails are not hoisted.
