Magnet (1856)
A whole plate negative. A slightly distant starboard broadside view of the Royal Navy wooden screw gunboat Magnet (1856) at anchor or moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has a 3 masted schooner rig and is serving as tender to HMS Pembroke (1855) which was the coastguard vessel at Harwich from 1858 to June 1869 and flagship at Sheerness from June 1869 to April 1873 when she became a barracks ship at Chatham. A 3 masted mercantile barque is at moorings on the right. Tilbury is in the background.
