Nocturnal

Standard wooden nocturnal except for following details:
For use with Little Bear only. Handle is pierced by semicircle and inverted tear-drop. Some decoration on the handle. The main disc is rather warped. Reverse only has a 16 point compass rose with points marked by English initials; by-points by single lines.
Obverse: Main disc has table with regiment of the Pole Star for the Little Bear numbered clockwise from the top. Date scale divided anticlockwise to named months subdivided to 5 days. Meridian transit (lowest point) at 31 October.
Rotatable disc has shaped pointer against 12. Lunar-age scale is an 8-point compass rose with English initials for seven points and a flower for North.
Pointer has fiducial edge and is tapered towards the tip.
