H.M.S. Lyra Captn Basil Hall

Signed and dated ‘CWB 1818.’ at lower left of drawn surface. Part of an album of ‘sketches from memory’ by C.W. Browne, made Jan-Feb 1818.
Inscribed on mount: ‘H.M.S. Lyra, Capt. Basil Hall’. Captain Basil Hall was appointed to the command of the ‘Lyra’ on 23 October 1815. He remained her captain until she returned to Portsmouth at the end of 1817. She was sold in 1818.
