Velasco (1881)
A whole plate negative. A slightly distant port side view, taken from well ahead of the beam, of the Spanish Navy unprotected cruiser Velasco (1881) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has an auxiliary barque rig with two yards on each of the fore and main masts. She was built by Thames Iron Works & Shipbuilding Company at Blackwall is on her trials prior to sailing for Spain. Tilbury is in the background. Negatives numbers G2062 and G2079 were taken on the same occasion.
