A print showing two views of Jakarta. The image by Wenceslaus Hollar was originally an illustration to Johannes Nieuhof's 'An Embassy from the East-India Company of the United Provinces, to the Grand Tartar Cham Emperor of China' (London: 1669); second state. It was published in translation by John Ogilby using the same prints.
At top, the city is seen across the sea, with Dutch ships and rowing boats in the foreground. Below is a view of the castle with a long stone bridge at left and wooden bridge at right.
