Berean (1869)
A 12x10 negative. A port side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the half sunken 3 masted barque rigged general cargo ship Berean (1869) in the River Thames below Gravesend. The Berean (1869) was inward bound from Langesund, Norway, with a cargo of ice when she was struck by a foreign steamship and foundered on the 8th April 1910. Most of the hull is under water and all of her sails have been properly furled. The wreck was later raised, towed to Falmouth and broken up.
